First of all, my condolences to the Jacobs Family for the loss of Kodo.I know it's not much, but I have a candle burning and I will try everything I can to help prevent this from ever happening again. Let me introduce myself, since I just started getting this newsletter. My name is Sam (no,it's not short for Samantha, S.A.M. are my initials) and my husband and I are proud care takers of 3 ferrets. Our first one is Rascal, a male albino who has been nicknamed Ratman. After Rascal stole our hearts and showed us howmuch fun these fuzzies are,we got Bandi(aka Ratgirl)She was half starved when we brought her home, but after some good food and a good nights sleep she recovered nicely.Ofcourse the ratpack would not be complete without a Ratboy, so along comes Bandi's brother,Robin. To see them and find out more about them, check out http://users.1st.net/hammock. Besides running an ISP,(http://www.1st.net) my husband and I now run a ferret shelter/ information center, since the people in Ohio are NOT at all educated on ferrets. Now, as for the reason I'm writing...I've watched the plans for another ferret association and I have to give my 2 cents worth. DON'T! We don't need another group to bikker with the others. What we need is action!Pat Ball cam up with a GREAT one,a national ferret weekend on the steps of the capitol.Count me in! We need to band together with the groups that already exist, not go through the growing pains with another one. It'll take yars to get it organised properly, years that could be spend actively making the public aware, years of mail bombing senators to change the laws.Lets DO something! Sorry is this note turned out a little long,I just like writing ;p P.S. Margaret, thanks for the nicknames :-) Sam,High Priestess of Ferretone & the Ratpack Rascal (aka Ratman) Bandi (aka Ratgirl) Robin (aka Ratboy) [Posted in FML issue 1978]
