Bay County officials didn't think so when they euthanized Kodo, the pet ferret of a Saginaw man, to perform a rabies test on Thursday. "The disease is "almost invariably fatal," said Dr. Cherie L. Drenzek, an epidemiologist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Ga. And the lucky few who survive go through hell to do so.
