To Gary M Sadger,
1. Kodo did not bite anyone. The gentleman was bumped and brushed up
against the ferrets k-9 tooth.

2. Your e-mail indicates you have FULL access to a University Library and
are not operating from a home computer. Use the University to do research.
Mr. Jacob's was INVITED to the an educational display in the mall. He went
only because he was invited.

3. If you like the status quo of the rabies Kill law, which is non-specific
and done by human interreptation of the CDC regs, maybe you'd like to go
back to rule by England.

4. Education does not need to be done to the public ferret owners, but to
bring the Michigan government laws up-to-date with current studies. "No one
has ever contracted rabies from a ferret bite in the history of the CDC
records" Mike Shaddock, DVM, State Vet.

Laws are written to protect all, but also to be interrepted and applied by
both the spirit and the letter. Not indiscriminately, to get it over by
killing the ferret (there is no painless humane way), this is the easy and
cheap way out. To review the case facts, is the EDUCATED way. Kodo never
was outside the home. Kodo's rabies shots are current. Are all your shots
current...Your personal shots---tetnaus, TB-tine, etc.
