Hi, everyone, I think it's been over a year since I sent a post (yikes) but I've been dutiVz3Pfully reading along all this time. My problem: I finally got another fuzzy friend for Chloe and she's been a terror. Her name's Nessie and she's a 6-month old dark sable. Very soft, very cute, but she BITES like nothing I've ever encountered. I think the problem is that she was alone in an aquarium in a pet store for most of her life. All her brothers and sisters were sold around Christmas, so she'd been solo from December til April. I figure the store wasn't taking very good care of her, judging by the lack of toys in the aquarium and the heaping mounds of excrement in the corners. She gets along well with the other ferrets (my roommate has three), but she attacks humans. She's drawn blood on my roommate and I almost every day. I've tried nose thumping, caging, bitter apple, holding by the scruff of the neck, holding her on her back, cooing and petting, squealing in pain, and loud outbursts of frustration (well, those were involuntary). Nothing but nothing seems to make an impression. Can anyone help? I know this is an oft-mentioned subject, so in the interest of not flooding the FML with redundancy, you can just e-mail me at [log in to unmask] I'd appreciate it eternally. I really want to get along with this little girl. Thanks in advance, Katy: (whimpers of pain) Chloe: (yawn) I'M a perfect angel. How 'bout some ferretone? Nessie: Mmmm! Flesh!
