Greetings, I am a new subscriber to here and have read three issues. It is nice to see a place where fuzzy lovers can share stories and info. I had three ferrets until recently when two were very sick and have moved on. My five-year-old son Sebastian says they are playing with the angels. He handled very well saying even the angels should have ferrets to love. My remaining fuzzy is a 1 1/2 year female sable named Kalie. She is an adoptee. We plan to get a new sister or brother for her to room with, but need to wait. The vet found evidence of ECE in the necropsy, even though neither had the typical neon green mucousy stools before. So Kalie is quarantined for 6 mos. My main reason for this message is to get some definitive news concerning mange. A friend is a new ferret owner and will be out of town next month. The woman who would be ferret-sitting has a guinea pig with mange. She has gotten four different reponses from four different vets on the risk of Wicket getting mange. I was told there is a big risk, but offered to ask here for her. So I would appreciate any input concerning ferrets and mange. Thank you. In ferret love, Donelle Whiting and Kalie [Posted in FML issue 1896]
