Roxanne (roxie) is about 3 years old MF sprite. I adopted her from the Ferret Gallery in December. She is a healthy if somewhat tiny (1.25 lbs) little girl. This past Saturday both she and her cage mate Jake went to get their annual distemper shots and neither had any reaction. As was instructed I took them home put them in their cage to keep them quiet. Sunday they were out all day until 11pm mostly exploring my bedroom I had just ferret proofed. Roxie had eaten a lot more then normal but that was probably cause of her higher level of play that day. I just let them out today and Jake seemed fine but roxie was acting peculiar. For lack of a better word she was "listing" to her left side. It looks like it is either her back or one of her back legs. She walks but her back side gives out and she either sits down or falls to her side. I promptly put her back in her cage and she never complained! That isn't like her at all if put in her cage before SHE decides she wants to she scratches at the door and the carpet on the cage floor. Today she just curled into her pillow case and went back to sleep. I opened the cage door again and she went out for maybe 5 minutes and went back to her cage! Jake seems very upset and he too went back to bed to be with his cage mate!! I called the vet and she cant see me till tonight! I am frantic that one of my fuzz babies may be sick. Could she have sprained her leg or something? She is drinking ok took her ferretone one and I noticed some of her food missing so she must be eating... Please if anyone has any advice email me.. Maggie Jake - come on lets play roxie mommy gave us this whole new room for Easter! roxie - leave me alone Jake I'm tired.. [Posted in FML issue 1889]
