Since today was Marathon Day here in Boston, I'll reprint Bob C's
carbo-loading reply --
>Look closely at most of the goodies ferret love as treats, and you will
>see they are mostly rich in carbohydrates, and most have a sweet flavor...
>The carpet monkeys are after the sugars, which is as far as I can tell, a
>universal trait among mammals.

However...my question still is...
Dogs will eat sweet stuff, but I don't see cats going after bananas and
apples and tangerines (dogs either for that matter). I have no problem with
carnivores eating grass, grains, veggies, etc. but I still don't understand
why ferrets go after fruit and other sweet stuff. Did their ancestors eat
prey who were fruit eaters?

Ronnie (what kind of a carnivore likes citrus?)
Harry (oh please give me that banana!)
Ralphie (ugh! I wouldn't eat a banana for all the raisins in California)
Prince Charming (give it to Merlin, he'll eat anything)
Merlin (which way did they go, which way did they go)
