are there any ferret friendly airlines out there?? i need to travel and i need to bring my ferret along, but i have had no luck with the airlines...only dogs, cats and birds are allowed to fly on the craft. i've been on the phone hours with the baggage people, the freight people, the shipping people...i get different answers from all of them... some say it's ok, others say it depends on who's working (real dependable, huh?), and the rest say ferrets just aren't allowed. i finally got smart enough to ask for the supervisors, but they were all quite rude and said absolutely no to ferrets on the airoplane, whether they be shipped, freighted, counter to countered, or carried on board...(i tried to understand what the difference is between shipping, freighting, and counter to counter, but, again, all answers varied) not only that...prices varied, necessity for health certificates and vet approvals varied, the hour of check-in changed with each person...the werid thing is that each person asked me to hold at least twice, once to ask someone else about the rules and a second time to check the computer-does each computer say something different?.....aaaaarrrrrgggggggg! it's been frustrating and i don't know what to do! i'd like to write letters, call the air lines, etc...WE NEED TO GET THIS CHANGED! but where do we start? any info on airlines that fly ferrets? i've heard delta will, but i didn't call them because their flights aren't convenient for where i need to go... any help/info would be great. thanks! maria [Posted in FML issue 1889]
