Hey all... Regarding Swamp's list of ferret paradoxes and the "messiness fetish..." It took me a long time to figure this one out, but I've come to the conclusion that the ferrets aren't the messy ones, we are. My ferrets live by their own type of "feng shui" (sp?), you know...the oriental concept of how the arrangement of things in the home affect your wellbeing. The ferrets see how the humans arrange the apartment that comprises their world. They are dissatisfied. Humans (especially my roommate and I) live in an imperfect world and we're content to keep it that way. Ferrets, on the other hand, strive for perfection. I always tell Reverend Maynard, "How was I supposed to know that the squeeky hedgehog and the old burgerking cup go in the second dresser drawer?" He just looks at me as if to say, "You have much to learn." Just a thought... Kelly Reverend Maynard: "the rubber ducky also goes in the drawer." Edie: "I go in the third drawer." Cosette: "all manners of cords must be alphabetized behind the entertainment center." Static: "Must bite toes...must bite shins..." Magkij znak: "How was I supposed to know that the Beta food didn't go in the shorts drawer?" Me: (groan!) [Posted in FML issue 1871]
