Jim, Just a few hints on how to prevent your ferrets from digging... 1) Buy some carpet protector and put it under your doors. This will prevent the ferrets from scratching the carpet by the door. You can also cover up other popular scratch areas. 2) Keep the ferrets nails short. The more often you trim them, the shorter you can cut them without cutting into the quick. 3) I have only heard this, so I don't know if it works. Spray bad tasting (for most ferrets!) Bitterapple where they dig. My opinion (for what it's worth) in regards to declawing of ferrets is that it should not be done. Most ferrets love to climb, and if it wasn't for their nails how would they then be able to climb up your back just to bugg you? In regards of dark eyed whites... They are very pretty and unusal. From what I have seen, two types are the most common: 1) White with a black stripe going down their backs and tail. The stripe usually fades with age. 2) Completely white What can happen is that light silver ferrets turn into dark eyed whites when they get older. To find a kit that is a true dew can be somewhat difficult. If you do find one, expect to pay a bit higher price.
