i've been a follower (mostly lurking, tho) of the digest for about a year. i'm also a freelance writer and will be sumbitting queries to a couple of pet retailer trade magazines regarding how stores can best handle ferrets. i know they shouldn't be doing it at all, but those who already sell animals aren't about to stop. perhaps they will accept some suggestions, however, and learn to make their little ferrets more comfortable and healthier, as well as educating customers about ferret care. i've gotten many terrific ideas on this list and have learned more than i thought i could about our little fuzzbutts -- their health needs, possible problems, how to find kits, breeders, rescues ... more than i can ever thank you all for! if i can share some of this information with pet stores and even one little fert has a better life because of it, it'll be worth everything! please send any thoughts or ideas you have on the subject of retail sales of ferrets to my e-mail address: [log in to unmask] thanks so much! -- Kris Aaron home # 608.423.3419 [Posted in FML issue 1862]
