Jean, I can't give you any help as to what may be wrong with Babe. However, one way that I have gotten around the problem of my ferret taking her Pred. is to take the medicine in its pill form. Cut it into the desired dosage. Pulverize it and mix it into some Linatone (Ferretone). My ferret loves it. Getting her medicine is a big treat. Brian, I would make sure that the people you are going to be living with are ferret lovers before you get a ferret. I have lived with two roomates at separate times that both claimed to be "animal lovers". (Pre-veterinary major and a wildlife major) Both situations ended with my roomate either hating me or hating my ferret. Living in close quarters with someone else, it is difficult to 100% of the time control what bags, boxs, shoes etc. that your little one gets into. I don't want to discourage you, but unless they are FERRET lovers (b/c ferrets are much different in behavior than your average dog or cat) you may have some problems. In addition, I have been trying to get my ferret to switch to Totally Ferret too. Blizzard is the pickiest eater on Earth. She won't eat meat if I offer it. She also isn't fond of anything that isn't sweet!! She has a really bad sweet tooth. She hasn't eaten the TF. She once went seven days without eating when I tried to change her food. Now, she has insulinoma so I can't let her starve. I have been giving her some of the old food as a "treat". But I would like her to start eating the Totally Ferret. Any advice on how to get a stubborn ferret to switch food is appreciated. ***************** Shelley Straight VA-MD VET MED ***************** [Posted in FML issue 1886]
