Hi, Monica! I am new on FML but though I could offer some help here. There
is a product called C-Derm Comfi-Spray which helps dry skin in ferrets, dogs
and cats. Although the label only mentions dogs and cats, my vet assures me
it is okay for ferrets (they don't even see dogs and cats at their office
and they sell the stuff). It works well with my ferrets who tend to get dry
skin during the winter months. Of course, I don't work for the company,
etc. etc. etc.

But, I must say, I've never seen a brownish-orange patch or anything else
that you describe on one of my ferrets. It could be something other than
dry skin and you may want to go ahead with that vet visit. Good luck.
