For Shelly Smith (and others with carpet diggers)...I had great success with a spray bottle filled with plain water. Just shoot them when you catch them digging. May take a while if they are real stubborn, but they should get the hint eventually. For Nancy Farlow (and those with a thing against terriers)...I found offense in the words...little dogs are paranoid. I have a multi terrier mix and two Jack Russel Terrier mixes and they are all wonderful with all small animals (ferrets and rats) and even the bunny (who can take care of himself, should someone piss him off). I also had a Pug who was in no way paranoid. She would let the ferrets play on her. She would make a lot of noise if they "got in her face" too many times, but she never snapped. Maybe you are thinking of smaller dogs. I know a mini dachsaund and a chuahua (sp?) both are hyper, but not paranoid (there is a difference). As has been said before, each dog needs to be taken as an individual. I would not trust my Mom's Golden. She is VERY stupid, and as is the case with a hunting breed, she likes to carry things around in her mouth. This includes small animals (apparently she is so dumb that the numerous kitten and cat scratches she has recieved don't faze her). But, I would trust my friends Golden. She is hyper, but gentle. Question...In an earlier post, someone said it is hard to find homes for albinos. Why is this?? All ferrets are fun and beatiful, why does color matter?? (BTW, we had a wonderful albino fert, Slinkey, and he LOVED stuffed animals. Also, my NudgeBunny is albino and he is BEATIFUL!!) [Posted in FML issue 1837]
