Whimsical Weasels
By Stephanie Sheme

Some consider them "Whimsical Weasels"
With their strange, unpredictable ways,
Carelessly digging up potted plants
and hiding things you won't find for days.

Such people would not care to own one
for they would not have the patience to bear it!
And not in their wildest dreams
would they let themselves be "owned" by a ferret.

But some, like me, find entertainment
In their "weasel war dance"
And I could never resit a weasel sleeping
so sound and sweet in the leg of my sweat pants.

It doesn't take much to amuse them,
A cardboard box or some tubing will do,
And you don't have to walk them in rainstorms,
a box or some newspaper in the corner will do.

And no matter what trouble they find
and I assure you it's alot
I always will forgive them
For their love is non-stop.
