I'm sorry Liz... FWIW, I live in dread of just such an episode in my house.
Dakota, for example, will follow me as I do stuff around the house, running
up under my feet - and Guiniviere becomes curious and approaches me just as
I turn; I accidently lightly kick them as I move about, they seem bewildered
but it could have been much worse... I love them so much, and the
possibility of something falling on them or stepping on them is disturbing
me as well...
 
I do wonder if any of the vets can comment on effective first aid in these
cases.  Do you immobilize a ferret in a case like this?  Do you keep it head
down, sort of like for shock, or to help drain and clear breathing passages?

I again, I'm so sorry to hear of this, but thank you for sharing, it was
good for you to remind us - that took courage.
