This si copy of update I sent to Dayna. I dont trust myself to be able to put together two this morning. If Meltie diod not rust us so well we could not have done this -- she ate sprin because we begged her to ecen though it made her gag, andif Dr. Hollo was not there and so reliable and so logical she would have been inserious trouble. Some stuff is with two handed typing since she now ants no touch on and off and she probably needs real sleep like we do. some is one hand when we massge. Mostly it's one hand. She's been off a person less than half hour total since the incident last night. Hi, All was under control except the R rear leg (Think I told you L, but you know how frazzled I was), and we now have good news on that. The leg had dropped out completely with mobility, just limp after it went, and purple, but sensory was present and itwas not blue. We were fortunate that the clot was in the femoral artery and rather rather than the aorta or worse. Choices were heparin IV or a large dose of asprin orally. Since she'd already (a few weeks ago, I guess) had an intestinal bleed-out (not ulceration -- either a severe bout of heart failure which pooled blood which then leaked through the lumen, or a reactive colitis bout -- you know how it gets when a tests would be more strain than can be risked --you treat the symptoms ) and since the blockage was not complete the asrin was tried. You should have seen the little girl. We could not pill gun the piece since it was too friable so we put it put it in Nutrical but she could still really taste it so we used words she knows well and begged, "Meltdown, please, eat. This leg fix." She would take a few licks, then gag, then try again, over and over till she got almost all of it in even though she hated it! At first she did not wan t the leg touched so we massaged now and then. Then after a short while she accepted it and had non-stop massage which is why I am tying except some capital letters and when she was on her papers and so on with one hand. Three hours after she threw the clot she began to be able to flex at the hip and toes. Several more hours and she could push a bit. About seven thiry or quarter to she was able to support herself onthe leg. It's not normal, but very close. Please, forgive errors. Even with doing this in shifts sleep is the great unknown now. I got a tiny bit, but Steve could not sleep till now. Afte he slepps I think I'd like to bathe and sleep, maybe at the same time at this rate. Oh, togive her food we had her in my shirt and under the bed covers, lying on my chest and Steve would hold the bwol of her turkey mush, Nutrical, Nusalt, water mix upfor her. She found that my facr makes a gret napkin. [Posted in FML issue 1816]
