I was able to participate in my first ferret "rescue" this week and it was an incredibly satisfying feeling. To give a very brief background. I currently have 4 fuzzies and am very visual with them. Most everyone in our trailer court knows us as I am forever taking them for walks or drives. There are also a couple other people that have ferrets but don't take theirs out. Anyway, while I was home from work for lunch, one of the neighbors came over and asked if I had lost any of my ferrets. Well, instantly I take a fuzzy count and all are accounted for. Apperantly they found one running loose in their yard and, knowing I had ferrets, assumed that it was probably one of mine. Well, I went with them to see the little lost fuzzy and see if we could find his rightfull home. On the way, I checked with one of the people I also knew to own a ferret, and sure enough, they said theirs was missing. I went and got the errant little lad and took him back home. They were so happy to have him back. He was fine even for spending a night in the cold outside world and the people that found him were so impressed with him, they may end up getting one of their own. (ferret math strikes in the most amazing ways :>) I know it wasn't as spectacular as some of the more extreem rescues I read about but, never the less, no less satisfying to reunite a fuzzy with his family safe & sound.
