Hello all, yesterday I saw a post about someone else that had a hyper-active female badger ferret. I agree, Stella (female badger ferret) is pertty smart, we have a salt-n-pepper that is fairly clever but Stella is always out looking for trouble. Holloween..we had one of those pumnkins that a ghost rises out of, well Stella took an intrest in it and tried to drag it off. She did pertty good too, took it across the length of the house and got caught dragging it under the bed. Our other ferrets have their hidden stashes about the house, Stella moves her's everyday, which really causes trouble when looking for wallets, latch-hook yawn, key's, shoe insoles ect. When she plays with the other ferrets, she litterly runs circles around the others. Rascal (the salt-n-pepper male) likes to grab the other ferrets by the scruff of the neck and roll, this appears to be very effective at stopping the others. He taught this trick to Kosmo (sable male departed :( ) and also has taught it to Chantille (red sable female). Stella employees her own methods, she likes to litterly jump on the others. She easyly jumps over her height standing and lands on top of whoever she's playing with (more than one ferret.. no problem land lenghtwise), then she runs around and does it again (hell from above). After a few pounchings the other ferrets uselly run off. It was a relief to find out that she wasn't in need of prozac (although sometimes she deserves some). She maybe hyper but she is fun to watch. Still one question, people with badger ferrets, do they have thick winter coats and have they put on weight? Or is their hyper-activity what keeps them trim and fit? Thanks, Jdg Rascal- Someone reeeallly needs to calm that girl down!!! Chantille- Oh cow!! I just scared myself again!!
