Hi all-- Mo'Maggie asked about whether snow was an acquired taste or not for fuzzies-- well, Amelia loved it the first time she was out in it. She digs tunnels in snowdrifts, pounces on snowballs, and knows enough to ask to be picked up when she gets cold. Cully on the other hand pretty much hated snow from the get-go, although he does like to cruise around nice and snug in somebody's jacket and see the sights. I don't know if this has anything to do with their relative ages on first time out; Amelia was a kit, and Cully was three and a half. Cully's got a better coat this year though, so maybe he'd like the cold better. If it ever starts snowing, that is; would you believe it's been raining for two days straight? This isn't how I remember December in Montreal... and another obscure ferret reference: Ursula K. LeGuin's Tehanu, the last book of Earthsea, p3. "I'd barely seen a child with them, a little ferret of a thing, slipped out of sight so quick I wan't sure it was there at all." So if anybody ever wondered if there were ferrets in Earthsea, it appears there are. I bet they're even legal there, unlike LeGuin's homestate ;) Happy December to all-- Regina (bring that ornament back!) Amelia (well can I take this tree branch then?) and Cully (this is all too exciting for me, I'd better hide under the couch) ********************************************* Regina Harrison PhD Student, Anthropology Joint Co-ordinator, AGSEM-- McGill's TA union McGill University Montreal, Quebec "If that's all there is, my friends, then let's keep dancing" --Peggie Lee [Posted in FML issue 1772]
