Hi, I wrote a few weeks ago about my ferret Ginger who was not eating well and who continue to have soft poops and the lost of hair on her tail. I returned to the vet and he took a blood test. Everything showed up OK. The lose of hair seems to be going up the trunk of her body. The vet seems to think that it may be an adrenal tumor. (And so do I.) With everything I have been reading from FAQ and on the FML, I think I knew what it was before I took her to the vet, I was just hoping I was wrong. My questions are: Is there any other treatment I can do before surgery? If not what type of anesthesia should be used for this surgery? I understand that with Adrenal Surgery, it is really exploratory - is it correct to say that they should not come out empty handed and the left adrenal gland should be taken out no matter what? I would like to know before I ask my vet, this way I have some knowledge what is good/bad when I discuss it with him. Thanks for your help, dooks and kisses, Maria, Michael and the four trouble makers. [Posted in FML issue 1779]
