Judith your problem is one that most of us with multiple ferrets has confronted with eventual success, but with varying degrees of difficulty. I have found that mixed sex introductions are tougher than two males, for example. Try putting cages side by side for a few days, so that no one will be bullied, but they can get acquainted through the bars. After a couple days, put them together in a neutral site, where no one has an advantage. Getting acquainted will be a rough session with one ferret establishing domination. A squeak or two is usual. Just make sure that no serious damage is done, and one is not wounding the other. Ferrets play rough! I just spent three weeks getting a new member introduced to the six-pac. They were all male, but the new one didn't know how to play, and was bullied by the others. Now all sleep on the same mattress, and all is well. Patience was very important. You didn't mention if your ferrets were intact (unneutered) That is a whole nuther problem. Keep your eye open for other replies to your problem.
