Hello Fellow Ferret Lovers: Never have I left my ferrets running free and unsupervised! Today was a lovely day and the people family were outdoors raking leaves - coming in every once in a while to check on the furry kids, since both Katy and Sasha were out. I came in to find that Sasha had climbed into a kitchen cupboard... raisin bran "all" over the floor. The situation: I have no idea how many raisins each of the kids ate (or stashed), however about two hours later, Katy started either sneezing or coughing (I can't tell which) and has vomited about three or four times. She has vomited up undigested raisins, and some partially or mostly digested kitten food. However, I am unable to tell whether or not she ate any of the cereal. The label on the box reads as follows: whole wheat, raisins (coated with sugar, hydrogenated vegetable oil), wheat bran, sugar/glucose-fructose, salt, malt (corn flour, malted barley), vitamins (thiamin hydrochloride, pyridoxine hydrochloride, folic acid, e-calcium pantothenate), minerals (iron, zinc oxide). About an hour after that, she seems to have settled down for the most part and Sasha is curled up around her and I only hear an occasional sneeze. I have spoken with my vet and he has reassured me that she will be fine, and that he does not need to see her. I would welcome further advice as when one of these babies is not well we all want to do the best that we possibly can. Thank you, Jean and her sweetheart ferret Katy, and Sasha the Big Brother ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ "Everything that lives Lives not alone Nor for itself" William Blake ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ [Posted in FML issue 1734]
