Recent Subscribers: After five months the clear dryer hose is still, paws down, our ferrets' favorite plaything. The two old ladies who don't particularly care to play with other fuzzies visit the tubes less often, but the other seven are through there at least a few times a play period. Games of chase, hide and seek, and follow the leader always include the clear dryer hose. They all still run through the white hose, too, but they stay with the clear hose to chase each other in and out of it and to pounce on the ferret(s) inside from the outside. Being able to see in the hose and through it seems to be what makes it such a great play place. I have two 8 ft lengths connected by a three-way PVC joint. Fastened over the third opening with garbage bag twisties, I have a very tough clear plastic bag (with many little holes in it) which once contained twenty rolls of TP. This gives them a safe plastic bag to play in (there is always that 4" opening) and they love to use it as a place to lie in ambush and to wrestle. We love being able to watch them while they are in the tubes ... especially seeing those tails a-wagging! Jake cracks us up, because he can run backwards through the tubes as quickly as he runs forward. It's like watching a film go suddenly into reverse. The tubing is sold pre-cut in 8 ft lengths, but you can also ask for custom lengths from the place my husband ordered ours ... as my Mother's Day gift. I forget the price, but it is not expensive, even with shipping. Call Stan in "Plumbing" Crissey Fowler Lumber Colorado Springs, CO PH. 719-473-2411 FX. 719-473-0653 [Posted in FML issue 1729]
