Just a couple of comments to some posts from yesterday: >From: Renee Alyce Clare-Kovacs <[log in to unmask]> >Subject: In General In Everything Congrataulations on adopting Tinkerbell. I was also at Disney's 25th Anniversary handling press for the Motorola booth at Innoventions. Would have loved to meet you and the new fuzzy. We live in Boca Raton, Florida and have 4 ferrets from 3 mos. to 2 yrs. I noticed your comment on cheap toys. Just wanted to mention the danger of a toilet paper roll. Our older ferret used to drag them out of the trash and carry them around and it seemed cute. Never had any problems. Spunky, who we adopted about a month ago and is about 3 months old, has a pretty chunky neck. He got his head stuck in a toilet paper roll, and luckily we were there to see him. At first he seemed funny shaking his head about. But, as we tried to take it off, he freaked. we had to cut/rip it off. Although it had not taken much time, he must have gone into shock. His eyes were hafl closed and he started drooling. I paniced and started mouth-to-mouth. Then splashed water on his face and made him drink. He snapped out of it quickly, but gave us quite a scare. We now have a new family rule - rip rolls up before discarding. Anyway - a word of caution. >From: Bob Brown <[log in to unmask]> >Subject: Chicken bones I agree with Bob Brown - I have always heard that you would never give chicken or pork chop bones to dogs, since they splinter easily and could pierce internal organs. I would assume they would also be bad for ferrets. Regards, Sandi Humphrey [log in to unmask] [Posted in FML issue 1725]
