Dear Hurting Bryan... I am so very sorry you had that perfectly normal reaction to being bitten by an upset [or wilful] fuzzy.. But I read that post over several times and I think you are the upset one.. the fuzzy evidently had not a single hard feeling toward you.. and suffered no trauma physical or emotional.. He chomped and you physically rejected him. and he quit biting and accepted your goodie and let you pick him up and feed it to him and cage him and everything with not one other hostile move toward you.. He tried you on for size.. you showed who was the Head Ferret.. and that seems to have been that!! No it was not a real nifty move to 'throw' the little beast... but he came to no harm. and seems to have learned and come to accept you as a result of your very normal reaction... Yes, he 'could' have been injured.. 'could'.. not 'was'.. mind you.. .. and you have punished yourself far more than anyone ever could... Give yourself a break Guy!! If you could spend a couple of days going thru past clinical files with the intake pics that are always entered.. you would see your reaction as 'very mild'.. and even in pain and panic you still managed to 'throw' him in way that caused him no hurt or emotional trauma.. not too many people bleeding and trying to avoid an instant replay.. would have had such unconscious control in such a situation.. Your instincts were normal and your love for the furry little chomp addict is the reason he got 'summarily rejected' in such a 'free from harm' way... Miss Wiggles had to have three pins in her jaw from being drop kicked into a wall. all less than one pound of her.. and she just stood up and grabbed an ankle to say Hi.. Foggy lost all four paws above the ankle.. he dug something not his.. Cynthy had 6 broken bones from a lengthy ride in a clothes dryer.. her crime was to love to nap in the dirty laundry basket.. Jenny is blind for life because she 'stole' a potato chip during a football game and she got a Karate chop to the face that smashed the bones around the eyes and the splinters punctured both eyeballs instantly.. and the list goes on... Your human.. and your so very Sorry even for that.. So make your peace with the Man upstairs and the Nip Master and get back to work... Please don't send the little fellow away.. He screwed up... You screwed up [in your opinion].. and it's over and you both learned you are just ferret and human like all the rest of us.. Don't take his home and friends from him.. and please don't take him from you!!! He learned a little.. You learned a little.. but to have a lesson for you both cost him his new home and family is just not fair to him.. or to you.. IMO... Don't let this incident rob him of his new family and fuzzy friends.. without doubt the best time in his whole crummy life so far.. Your not unfit... your human.. He is not vicious.. he is a needy ferret... You have such a good heart and he needs you so badly.. please try to give a little of the love and understanding you would give to another who had been thru such an incident to yourself.. Arthurs adoptive Daddy got nipped [nothing like your hard bite] and he threw little Arthur to the floor and stomped on him.. Arthur will never crawl again much less walk, run, dook and War Dance in Joy like this little guy will !! _Please rethink this decision to send him away and abandon the fml family that cares about you both.. Your public confession of your inner upset with yourself speaks loud and clear of what you are truly made of.. and that fur child needs you .. and IMO.. you need him.. I think your a pretty terrific Head Ferret.. and I kinda think the little fellow does too.. Just give it a shot.. maybe.. please??? dayna and the Woozles :] "Resident of...
