Steve McGrane was asking yesterday about ferrets and the front door. My problem is not the ferrets getting out by themselves - it's me trying to get out the door without them. When they are up & about it takes some planning & a mad dash. First I try to get all my things like my purse, lunch bag, keys, etc. all ready by the door ready to grab. After my shoes & coat are on, the dogs get their cookies, then I get the ferts to follow me down the hall to their room, where they each get a small treat, the I run like heck to the door, grabbing my things on the way out. If I forgot anything, or got waylaid, I have to start all over again, because I'm of course being followed by the pitter-patter of little feets. Once I have successfully made it to the door, even if I'm not being closely followed I always look carefully, and never slam the door. Edith & co. [Posted in FML issue 1725]
