Carrie and Kodiak: I'm sure you'll get plenty of response on this, but often when a ferret has adrenal problems they'll experience seasonal hair loss and then grow it back. Be assured, though, they'll lose it again. If this is the classic pattern of hair loss associated with adrenal, I'd forget the blood test and either have the adrenal panel done or just have your vet go in for exploratory. Tryntje and Jasper: We also have a deaf ferret who cannot hear a solitary thing. Disciplining is a bit of a challenge, but can be done. Sidney seems to "know" he's different than our other ferrets. I've worked out a series of signals with him. If I tap him on the butt, he knows that means NO. If I touch him lightly anywhere else, he knows I'm trying to get his attention. It's just a matter of working out a series of signs and touches with Jasper to get him to understand. And it takes a WHILE.
