To: Kelleen, Mom & The FANG GANG Gosh! Reading about your dreaded ordeals made for many days with tears. Our hearts go out to you all and a big thanks to David for his help. We have heavy hearts for all the shelters lately that have had bad attacks of the mean old ECE stuff. Thank goodness none of mine have been exposed as I'm not sure I could handle it right now. Once a fert gets it and then finally gets well... are they then carriers for life? If so then any fert taken from any shelter that has had this problem would just infect all the other ones I have at home, right? At that rate the shelters might find it a very hard time trying to place their charges into homes, wouldn't they? To: Kimberly Anderson <[log in to unmask]> and her hero Stover! Next time I have a huge moth problem in my home...can I borrow him? Mine won't eat anything like that. Lobo likes to kill things but since he's well fed, won't either....but bees are a different story! To: "Joseph K. Carlson" <[log in to unmask]> Subject: MESHKA passes on.. I shed some tears when I read what a state of ill repair she was in when dropped off at the humane society. My May-wee was in that kind of shape when we took over her care but seems to slowly be coming out of it. She's starting to grow more hair now, but hasn't filled in her bald spots yet. She was extremely weak when I got her and couldn't walk very far. Now she's eating on her own, although I still give her all the soup stuff she wants 4 times a day. The rest of the time she eats the dry food on her own. The difference in her now is....she runs faster than the other 3, plays harder, sleeps less, and the kisses are the best in the world! So to those who find the poor undernourished ferts....my heart goes out to each and everyone and never give up. There's hope for most of them. I'm glad that MESHKA found someone at the end to give her that last ounce of much needed love. I'm sure she remembers even at the Rainbow bridge. BIG] To: Jeff Spicolli <[log in to unmask]> Subject: Keeping Kaze after all. And yet another fuzzie won! You gave up your old apartment rather than Kaze. Sounds perfectly logical to most of us too! To : the Anonymous Poster <[log in to unmask]> a ferret owner and pharmacist. Subject: Pedialyte home made version. Can you please post the info for those of us in need. To: War Machine <[log in to unmask]> Subject: How would a 9 month old ferret get along with a 1 year old TIMBER WOLF / SIBERIAN HUSKY MIX??? Well, my 4 fuzzies get along just fine with our wolf (Pure Alaskan Timber wolf) but then we never let them in the same room unless there's a cage or screen in between. Our 5 guys give kisses to each other all the time. Wolves view little critters as food. It's not worth a split second chance at an unfortunate accident that very well can be prevented. Although Lobo hates it when one of the fuzzies cry. That's usually when he'll give them extra kisses. We used to have a biter that nailed Lobo's tongue several times, so he's very cautious. How many of you have babies that play follow the leader. I'm usually the leader. Gads! All 4 are always under foot! Will they ever leave me alone? Maybe I play with them a little bit too much....NOT! haha Before Bill gets mad cause I was way too winded today.....chuckles and a howl from the crew......... Rascal......mama's kissy face lover boy and chief in charge Pogo..........changing his name to the barbarian if he gets much chunkier...whew! Talk about a big male! Brandy.......Following way too close way too often....She never misses anything either! May-wee.....Runs faster than any of them and she's supposed to be sick? NAH! Lobo..........Our Guard Wolf and their mama too! [Posted in FML issue 1706]
