HI EVERYBODY !!!! I've been reading for only a few days now, and am so glad I've found a "ferret comunity". I recently moved to Co and was hoping for one instate but hey on the planet will have to do!! Friends of ours found our ferret outside their apt complex. They knew we had always wanted one so we were the first people they called. He was so cute and homeless we could'nt say no, even though our apt had a "NO-PETS" policy. After much research I believe Buddha to be a cinnamon/champaigne siamese. But don't quote me. Of course he is the most beautiful ferret I've ever seen. haha! Well in june he weighed 2.5 lbs and was predominatly white w/20% redish brown guard hairs, he has grown some and now his guard hairs cover about 40%. My first question is do ferrets lighten being in the sun? We have no way of knowing how long he was outside though. Also, when we first got him he was very vocal clucking and cooing all over the place to himself or even us since we've moved he doesn't talk as much. I'm very worried that he is lonely for another ferret. We have plans of getting him a playmate, but since he isn't fully potty trained we're unsure if its a good idea to bring in another pet that also needs to be trained. We want to get him a friend before he gets to used to being by himself. We had a friend w/ 3 ferrets the first he had for a few years and when he bought another one it would totally ignore the new baby he had to go out and buy the 3rd so the 2nd one wasn't lonely. Any way thanks for letting me ramble. does anyone know of any shows or events in the denver area? Any help w/ potty training a never trained b4 ferret would greatly be apreciated!! oh, he is very docile but not very affectionate thanks again, EVYONNE [Posted in FML issue 1702]
