Hi everybody! My goodness it's been a long time since I've written! I've been one busy person. As some of you may recall, I wrote in quite some time ago to say that Paleface was having gastrointestinal problems (still... again...). So many of you responded with words of advice and caring, and I truly appreciated the help each and every one of you offered. With everyone's collective help, and especially that of my vet, Dr. Williams, and Dr. Bell, we decided that Paleface was still fighting the helicobacter virus. As you may have read in Dr. Williams' post about ulcers, a new treatment is available for this problem (two weeks of Amoxy and Biaxin). A few days ago, we finished up the treatment, and Paleface seems to be doing much better. His activity level has markedly improved, and his poop is healthier looking if not entirely normal. He even weighs a healthy 2.4 pounds! I am going to continue to treat him for an additional two weeks with Pepto (not used while treating with Amoxy and Biaxin), colloidal silver, and acidophilis. Poor guy, what a cocktail! He's doing well, though, and for that I am so grateful to all of you, and especially Dr. Williams and Dr. Bell. For those of you battling ulcers and/or the helicobacter, you might ask your vet to look into this new treatment as an option. I saved Dr. Williams' post about it. If anyone needs or wants it, I will forward it to you. Cheers, Gina, Paleface, Gunnar, and Daniel Formerly <[log in to unmask]> Now <[log in to unmask]> [Posted in FML issue 1698]
