Regarding my concerns about the GCFA: Several people contacted me privately about this. I don't think that any slandering or "false rumors" were involved here. I trust the people I talked to that lead me to my questions about the GCFA. I remained vague about these concerns publicly because I didn't want to turn it into a flamefest. I was contacted by a GCFA FMLer and I asked what I needed to. She got back to me very quickly with answers and I was extremely impressed with how she handled the situation. In the process, I've learned quite a bit about their history and some of their more prominent members. Her response, and the various emails of FMLers I respect very highly, have encouraged me to go ahead and join. I hope I can help promote the cooperation of the various groups. My GCFA application is in the mail, and plan on being heavily involved in all fert organizations I volunteer for. I've also sent a check in to the Morris Foundation for the rabies shed study >hint hint<. Not one single person (including those who caused my concern) has discouraged me from joining. These people just expressed why they were no longer a part of the group--they didn't tell me anything beyond what I asked, and not a single time did any slamming take place. Okay, so off that topic and on to another: Has anything been decided on FML pins or badges so we can recognize each other at the various shows? With the Michigan and Chicago shows coming up, I just KNOW there are going to be other listies there, but how do I find you? Has anyone taken the lead on this? Anyone mind if I do some research on it? My thanks again to BIG for maintaining the best list on the 'Net, and to every selfless person on the list for being invaluable sources of information. +--------------------------------------+ / Chuck Renaud <[log in to unmask]> / / <[log in to unmask]> / / http://shoga.wwa.com/~crenaud/ / +--------------------------------------+ [Moderator's note: Pam Grant made up FML stickers. She sent me some a week or two ago and I think they'll do just fine - they're pretty nice. Details are in ad issue 4, or I suppose you can mail Pam for details. BIG] [Posted in FML issue 1670]
