Hi.

I've recently re-subscribed to the FML, I forgot how good it is here - in
fact, I'm not sure why I left in the 1st place ;-)

Anyhow, down to business. Although I'm not a ferret owner (yet! still
'discussing' the best time to get a pair with my wife), I expect/hope/plan
to add to our 'family' (dogs, rats stick insects as well as myself and my
wife).

I'd be interested in finding out more about the UK ferret scene, assuming
there is one of course. In my neck of the woods (I'm up in Edinburgh),
ferrets are real easy to get hold of, if they're not going free, they only
cost a few pounds. Most of these though come from those with working stock.
The few I've seen, really don't really get socialised with humans as much as
I thought they would/should. Are there any reasons not to get a kit from
such stock, given that I want a pet and not a worker. Would I be better to
track down those who breed non working animals?

Can anyone give me info on breeders, events etc in the UK, preferable
north of the border???

Thanks in advance
cheers
Phil
