One of my ferrets that I adopted from a pet store I used to work at has a cloudy gray film formed as a faint circle in the center of one eye. I brought him to my vet and she said it definately was not cataracts, but could be a calcium deposit of some kind. About 1 month later his right eye began to form the same faint gray circle. She said it should go away, but it hasn't yet. It has not gotten any worse either. He can see fine, and it has not affected him at all in any way. I know that he is about 1 year old. He is a sable from MF and very active. I feed all my ferrets Iams. Could it be the food he is eating? None of my other ferrets have had this and I cannot find any info anywhere. I have no information on him or what he was fed before. A customer "simply" dropped him off at the store telling us he was her daughters and that her daughter was moving in with her in her nice new white carpeted house. Unfortunately, I was not there to ask her any questions. He can see fine, I just wonder what in the world it could be. Should I get a second opinion?
