There's a little bit of bickering still going on here about my response (in
issue 1670) to David Doyle's flame (at the end of issue 1669) and Paw Paw's
flame (in issue 1666).

Let me state it to this group for the last time:
Paw Paw flamed. David flamed. Lyra flamed again. I let em all through.
All of us were wrong. The FML is not and will not be a place for flames!
Everyone understand?

Oh yes, I might screw up and let something slip through again - that's part
of the risks of editing late at night and sometimes with little time. It's
not fair to the any of you when this happens, but I'm afraid it's a fact of
mailing lists that every now and then a not-so-nice post slips through. One
One measure I'm instituting immediately is to place some people on a sort of
"redundant moderation" - i.e. posts from these folks will not automatically
make it to the digest until I give an "OK". This reminds me (1) to take a
closer look and (2) also prevents these posts from being automatically
distributed should circumstances beyond my control cause an unedited issue
to be sent out.

I also will not hesitate to remove people who don't seem to comprehend the
"no personal flame" policy. My patience is wearing quite thin.
