Hi All We still haven't had a chance to wade through all the past FMLs to catch up on things since our return from Alaska. Peanut enjoyed his stay with our friends while we were away. He had a chance to become acquainted with canine type fuzzies (they have a Pug). He was so happy to see us. For two days, his tail bottle brushed every time we took him out to play. He will give you a report on his exploits and discoveries of the past six weeks. A week after our return, we moved. What an experience that was! We're still getting settled which is why we haven't had a chance to catch up onall the goings on. We'll let Peanut finish the story. Peanut here! Hi gang. Well, it's a good thing that mom and dad left me with people who have a canine fuzzy critter. I got to find out that there are other people out there with fur and four legs just like me (well, at least SOMEWHAT like me). Mom and Dad took me to a new place to live three weeks ago and it is really neat! I get to sleep in their bedroom now and they let me play on their bed. They put two sets of box springs on the floor instead of using a bed frame and there is just enough room on one of the sets that there's a little ledge for me to hop up on and crawl along. I love this because I can play hide and seek with them and burrow through their comforter or their sheets while they try to find me. I also have the run of the bathroom when I'm out. I got so excited when I first got here that my tail got all poofy and curled around! Then last week, this BIG black fuzzy Chow thing came home with mom and she got real excited when she saw me. She sniffed me and nibbled my back while Mom held me. then Mom held her while Dad let me sniff her. We haven't actually played together yet but we lick and nip each other through the bars of my cage and I play and show off all my tricks for her while she lays there watching me. Mom and Dad won't let us play together yet but they are hoping that Phoenix and I will become good friends. She seems to be guarding me at night. She lays at the foot of the bed and watches me sleep. If I wake up, she hops off the bed and comes over to make sure I'm okay. I really like my new house and the fact that I can run all over mom and dad;s bedroom and the bathroom. My favorite thing is to dook on the bed and jump onto the nightstands and climb into the window to see out. Mom keeps the storm windows closed so that I won't fall and get hurt. I've gotten very good at liberating plastic coke and pepsi bottles. I can grab the lip of the bottle and stand it straight up and I can also push it all the way across the room. I even dragged one into my dryer hose tunnel and pulled it all the way through. There are sliding mirror doors on the closet and I found that if I lay on my side I could push them open and explore. Mom got mad when I climbed into the bag where her lace and satin wedding dress was, so she banned me from the closet. Dad took some styrofoam blocks and wedged them in the doors so I couldn't open them. Boy was I mad!! I told them in no uncertain terms that that was not fair!. I pulled and pulled with all my might but I just couldn't get any of those doors open! Once in a while I still try, but so far I haven't caught them with their guard down. While they were in Alaska, I learned to talk and now I chatter to them every night when we have play time. They seem to have learned my language because they chatter back to me. I just get SO excited. I've only found one drawback to the new house. I haven't found a new place to create a hidey hole for my treasures yet. Mom and Dad did a pretty good job of ferret proofing the rooms I'm allowed in. Well, I've rambled long enough. I'm still waiting for Mom to catch up on her reading to see if Rosie and Maxie and Tater and Odie got married yet. Til next time.. Hugs and Dooks Peanut (and his mom and dad) [Posted in FML issue 1670]
