At six weeks old, your little fuzzy is a bundle of energy and does not have the time to sit still and be loved...but...there is a way to make sure that your little one becomes a cuddly ferret. (at least, this worked with us...) When he is sleeping, gently pick him up and cuddle. He will learn to associate being help with good, happy, relaxed feelings. Getting him while he is asleep is the key. Also, when he is awake and you pick him up, have some peanut butter on your finger, or some petromalt or ferretone, etc. Helps the little guy associate you with yummy things and he will be eager to get picked up. Also, baby ferrets love to gnaw on fingers...and toes and ears and anything else they can get in there mouth. Just like most baby animals. Just make sure he learns how hard is okay. If he bites hard, yelp and maybe give him a tap on the nose. Ferret skin is tougher than human skin and he has to learn that you are not a tough skinned ferret!
