Our first ferret (Boshi) never made any sounds at all.  (He would also hiss
to try and scare us.)  When we got our second (Mazik) he would make what
sounded like clucking noises.  Our third ferret (Sabra) squeeks almost
constantly, well, at least when she is being harassed by either Boshi or
Mazik.
