Hi again: It's been about two months now since Sasha (5 month old male) has been introduced to Katy (3 year old female). Sasha is about three pounds, while Katy is about a pound. If ferret fights are for dominance, I can't understand why Sasha is still being aggressive because when we take them out of their separate cages, they (seemingly happily) approach each other and get along fine for a few minutes, and then Sasha begins throwing himself on top of Katy like a big bully, biting with rapid lunging movements, and finally, let's drag Katy away by the neck, dooking merrily. By this time, Katy doesn't want to play Sasha's game, often bristles her tail and heads in any direction but where he is. If Sasha is first out of his cage, he heads towards Katy's cage and dooks until I let her out. She greets him (being the lady that she is), and exhibits "submissive" behaviour I would guess. We were watching them tonight, playing in three different carpet tubes which are set in different parts of the house. Katy invariably would manage to escape him and then watch from afar as he searched for her. He may be the brawn, but she is the brains:) Thank you, Jean and her sweetheart ferret Katy, and Sasha the Rogue, and the dog and five kitties. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Jean "Everything that lives [log in to unmask] Lives not alone Nor for itself" William Blake ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ [Posted in FML issue 1566]
