Thanks for your response about Tally. I initially decided that surgery was the way to go. I just wanted to verify it. I'm going to have Tally worked on by the vet school at Oklahoma State University. There are very few doctors her in OK that are qualified to work on ferrets. And to have work done by OSU, you pretty much must be referred. My local vet will take care of that. I guess that's the least he could do since the new vet at his clinic was the one who recommended against surgery. They are being very helpful, though. She's doing fine. Right now, Tally's romping around in the bathroom. You can't tell that anything's wrong, but I know how quickly she could "crash" if her glucose level gets dangerously low.
