I've found a solution to clumping litter. i'm behind in reading the fml so if this has been mentioned before, i apologize. since the fml, i've learned that clumping litter is unhealthy for ferrets, but it is so convenient. i've tried using just the recycled newspaper stuff but it was really messy and i ended up throwing half of it away every day. now, i fill the litter box with about two inches of clumping litter and put about a half inch to a inch of newspaper pellets on top. the little guys never come in contact with the clumping litter, you'll notice it never gets on the floor. it lets the urine through and clumps in the litter underneath and the stools stay on top. it isn't as easy as just using the clumping litter but it is as safe as just using the newspaper pellets. you have to keep on top of it, but, once you get the hang of it is really easy, clean, and safe. if i didn'y make this clear or anyone has any questions or comments please e-mail me personally. erin & roscoe, jesse, general, vinny and daisy.
