BAD NEWS FOLLOWS GOOD NEWS IN SACRAMENTO, After the stunning 11-0 yes vote on HR 37 (there were two abstentions, and no votes against) I woke up to the following quote in the San Francisco Chronicle, "Although no one testified against the resolution, Wilson's office said the governor opposes legalization of the squirmy cousins of the weasel." If you live in California, if you wish to visit California, if you someday may need, or want, to move to California, or, if you simply are tired of the persecution of the ferret and its owners here in California, you MUST call the Governor's office at (916) 445-1455 and tell him of your displeasure with his position, and that he should SUPPORT legalization. I can't believe that we have overcome so many hurdles and now face a problem with the Governor, but so be it, we are all his constituents. Please ask all of your family members, friends, co-workers, veterinarians and vet techs and pet store folks to call and express their opinion on the Governor's opinion. And please do it ASAP. Make flyers with his telephone number for vet offices, pet stores and your place of business. Don't let him be misled by these corrupted state agencies! And please, arm yourselves with a copy of the Pacific Research Institute Report. This report is the best thing for our issue since sliced bread for the sandwhich market. Dad purchased 1,000 of these and over half of them are reserved for lobbying efforts. The rest are available to you at a cost of $5.00 per report. Educate yourself and help Dad recoup his cost. Please send checks to me, Jeanne Carley, 410 Mountain Home Road, Woodside, CA 94062. Thanks in advance for your help with the Governor's office. He really needs to hear from you!
