I just wanted to take the time to thank all of the people who made it possible for me to seek and find help for my ferret "Mercury". Thanks to the Bossarts for making me aware of veterinarians in my new area of residence (N.H.). Dr. Chris Lawson is my primary vet at this time and Dr. Michael Dutton in Weare, NH, is my backup for extreme emergencies. Thanks goes out to Dr. Chris Lawson in diagnosing Mercury's adrenal tumors. He prescribed ketaconozole (sp?) which did what I wanted at the time. However, I found that the consumption of this prescription would soon begin to approach a price comparable to surgery. The quote of $500 for surgery was just too much for me to accept. (please, no flames. I'm sure there are those who will try and adjust my opinion about putting a price on a ferret's life; don't go there!) Thanks to Bill Gruber for maintaining the FML. Without it I would not have had the numerous channels from which to search for assistance with Mercury's condition. Thanks to Pam Greene for maintaining a wonderfully informative Web Page. With so much going on in and around the world of the internet, Pam's page was very helpful in finding the latest information about folks who have changed their Email address since last I subscribed to the FML. Special thanks to Dr. Bruce Williams. Bruce helped to confirm my thoughts about Mercury's adrenalectomy as opposed to using a perscription to thwart the side effects of adrenal tumors. He also helped me by pointing me in the direction of Dr. Charlie Weiss. Extra special thanks to Dr. Weiss for not only doing a splendid job with Mercury's surgery, but for being considerate of the financial burden one could face in this regard. There are many doctors and veterinarians who would take advantage of "supply & demand" when it comes to being a specialist. I think Charlie can definitely consider himself a specialist in "doing the right thing!" -- Alan Braunstein Workgroup Technology Corp Phone: (617) 674-7619 81 Hartwell Avenue Email: [log in to unmask] Lexington, MA 02173 http://www.workgroup.com The above comments are mine and mine alone and may not necessarily (but probably do) represent the opinion(s) of any other group or individual.
