Hi everyone. I hope everyone is doing ok. All fuzzies doing well. I send all my prayers to the fuzzies that have passed or are sick. I have an interesting question that I hope someone can answer. Last weekend, I brought Peanut to a fellow FML'er, Connie, who offered to watch Peanut when I go on my honeymoon. Here's the thing, Peanut (female) is an only fuzzy, and Connie has 3 male fuzzies. When Peanut was introduced to the most docile of the bunch, she immediately started to squeak, really loudly, and high. Immediately. She liked Max, and it appeared that Max liked her. Max did not bite her on the neck. Next we met the other 2, Radar, who is the leader, and Hawkeye, who is the baby (younger that Pea). She squeeked loudly again. Radar _was_ teaching her that he was the leader, which what I understand, is normal. He didn't really hurt her. She constantly squeeked loud and high. Now, Peanut is NOT a very vocal ferret. What does this mean? Is she scared? Is it a sign of submission? What? Also, do you think she will think I abandoned her? I read all these things about depressed ferrets. I don't want her to lose her hair, or stop eating. Thanks in advance for any possible input. Also, a funny, pretty pathetic vet story: When I first got Peanut, I took her to the vet because she was sneezing alot, and because she had these 2 blue spots in her ear. (I was also an uneducated, new ferret owner, I only knew the basics) The vet said it was blood vessels in her ear, and to keep an eye on them. Well, as I figured out, in only a very short time, with NO VET experience, that they are tatoos! 2 MF tatoos. It's scary what's out there. He claimed that he knew ferrets. Congratulations, to Ken in his adoption of 2 kits! Best of luck, and I hope they are kissy babies! Happy fuzzies for everyone, Andrea Peanut (zzzzzzz, dook, dook, zzzzzzz, lick, lick) [Posted in FML issue 1487]
