Isabella a stray i recently adopted three weeks ago has been desexed twice the first time by her previous owner a year ago. Then her owner gave her up to a ferret shelter Christmas time and it appeared she was on heat again . She was taken to a vet where it was found that something must have been missed. Whilst in surgery the vet noticed she also had an infection. She took a course on antibiotics for a week and is perfectly fine except for the hair loss. It is estimated that she was on heat 6 weeks before she was operated on could this be the reason. She had a very dense coat very wooly and in the last few days she has lost heaps of hair and it is extremely short.I am brushing her coat twice a day and she is continuing to loose more fur.She is very playful and has lots of energy. She looks thinner without her thick coat ,but appears to be healthy otherwise. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Sarah Sydney, Australia [Posted in FML issue 1473]
