Helen: Ferrets will definitely eat rabbits, they are not vampires. Apparently Wilma still has hunting instincts but doesn't recognize the dea mouse as now being food. Ferrets apparently learn easrly in life what is food. Many will not adapt to new foods later. I'm glad to see more folks from Sweden on the list. Pam: Just a hunch but you might check Beebee for ear mites. Look for dark almost black wax instead of orangish-reddish wax. The ear cavities are bind the ears and it sounds as if she might be trying scratch there. Of course I'm just guessing based on a short description. The on-line vets might have better ideas. We use a kitten/cat ear miticide when we suspect mites. bill and diane killian zen and the art of ferrets [Posted in FML issue 1463]
