Michigan's department of Natural Resources publishes a document, a little
booklet, really, telling exactly what you can hunt or trap, what you
cannot, and how you can do it. It specifically says in this booklet that
you can't hunt with ferrets. I would suggest that the State of Maryland
provides this kind of documentation to its hunters. If hunting is illegal,
it should specifically state this. Again, the Michigan hunting document
has absolutely everything in it: seasons, regulations,
no-hunting-endangered-quaxmalax regulations, everything. You can get it
wherever you buy your hunting license. :)
