From Pet Product News, January 1996 PIJAC state coordinator Micheal Twain is a member of the Wildlife Intergrity Task Group, which was formed due to increased concern about introduction of non-native species to the state. A draft proposal from the group is expected to contain new ways to classify "exotics" as low-, moderate-, and high-risk species. These classifications would affect permit requirements. ============================== Though permits may not be required now for ferrets in Oregon, the above information might just make some changes. Oregon people, please research this information - hopefully your local Animal Control or wildlife park/zoo might have more info. Please let STAR* know what you find out. Pam [Posted in FML issue 1451]
