Yes, it is.  These regulations don't seem to be aimed at me and my friends,
but rather at breeders and pet shops, but the regulations are all written
like it is assumed all ferrets are kept in cages (or outdoors, the section
about outdoors or unheated areas is very detailed).

It's not mentioned at all, but it says in the general regulations for all
species how often the cage should be cleaned.

Yes, it's not much longer than for many other ferrets, but they clearly
look different.  Pet shops here try to charge about twice as much for them
