Now I feel like the worst ferret owner in history since I did ignore many of the times that George sat and cried...but I did have a reason... For the lack of a better work, George is a willful little devil. He tries to manipulate me at every turn. He does things deliberatly, especially things that he knows are taboo. So when he was bad and needed a "timeout" we put him in his cage and let him cry. I would check on him to make sure that nothing was really wrong with him, besides the fact that he was pissed off. Maybe I was really harsh, but George like I said is very willful. And if you don't let him get his way, he will let you know. I don't want to break his spirit, but I think that he needs to understand that if I say "no" I mean it and I am not to be ignored or bit or pooped on because I won't let him do bad things. I love both of my ferrets to a distraction and let them get away with almost everything, but once in a while I hit my limit and I do resort to a bit of discipline. Not for us. That at least is a blessing.' He [Robert E. Lee] spoke staring at the fire. 'Each man has his own reason to die. But if they go on, I will go on.....If war goes on-and it will, it will-what else can we do but go on?...And does it matter after all who wins? Was that ever really the question? Will God ask that question in the end?'" -"The Killer Angels" Micheal Shaara [Posted in FML issue 1404]
